I am H.L. Delaney, an enrolled member of the Klamath Confederated Tribes and the founder of Basalt Sea Press, a Native-owned press. I built a published book and an illustrated, narrated app of my own people's origin stories. I would help your nation do the same with yours.
How it works
A complete path from oral tradition to a real published book and a real app, through a Native house, with no outside gatekeeper between your community and the finished work.
Your knowledge-keepers choose what is shared and how it is told. Your community holds the say over every word and image, start to finish. These are your stories, on your terms.
Working from what your community offers, I bring the writing craft, the illustration, the narration, and the app development. You are the source and the authority; I am the craftsman.
I publish the finished work through Basalt Sea Press, a Native-owned press for Native voices, mythology, and stories of resistance. Your stories reach a real book and app, not a file in a drawer.

An offline iOS app with read-aloud audio in your language, panel artwork, no ads, and no tracking, made to reach the next generation in a form they will actually use.
